To seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God we set our hearts on whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise. Think about these things. (See Phil 4:8)
Beloved in Christ we will be doing what we are beginning to learn- to know the love of God and reflect it. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. (Col 3:2)
In truth, the more heavenly minded we are the more earthly good we will be- Jesus said, "Wherever I am, there my servant will be also." We learn to seek the things above as we walk with the Lord here and now. Let's pray.
Lord Jesus, thank you for keeping us closes, for walking with us. We cannot do anything of heavenly purpose- anything that really counts here on earth without you. Help us to seek heavenly things. Teach us to love people around us with your love. Amen.
Today's very great and precious promise
For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. (Col 3:3)
We have God's Word on it.
